Vivienne Westwood 1994 S/S Collection : Cafe Society
The above photos are 'Worthmore' grand evening dresses.
Cafe Society focused on French styles form the 1890s to 1910s, and was insipired by Toulouse Lantree and the work of the English-born couturier, Clarles Frederich Worth, who established his fashion house in Paris.
The collection made refernce to the past in two ways, through reconstruction of cut , and through echoing the assemblages and composition of clothing and fabric seen in old master paintings.
